Blessingdales Christian Thrift Centers...
Blessingdales Christian Thrift Centers are local community distribution centers where people "Share the Blessings", by exchange of surplus clothing and household items to those who need them, who either buy them or partner with local community Churches to act as their Church benevolent center, to distribute food, clothing, and household items on behalf of a specific Church participating.
Clothing is selected for the Homeless and loaded onto our Mobile Clothing and Food Distribution Centers, (busses), and taken to the streets where the homeless live, allowing them to "shop" for clothing they need to survive at no cost to the Homeless.
Surplus clothing from our Street Ministry is sold through our Blessingdales Christian Thrift Centers, along with household items and goods donated that the Homeless cannot use while living on the streets. All revenues go to fund Ministry operations, picking up donated food, clothing, and other items, so we can continue to feed 1,600 Homeless meals weekly, Clothe several hundred Homeless weekly, find Shelter for dozens of Homeless weekly, including the 19 Homeless men in our Men's Christian Training Center in Nashville, TN, where the Homeless who commit to doing things God's way are given that opportunity through our 7 week Training Sessions that train them to work, get them a full time job, and train them to save their earnings to get off the streets.
Volunteers, particularly Ladies Ministries from local community Churches, are needed to share the workload of our Center. In Madison, TN for example, there are 98 Churches locally, so if each Ladies Ministry would commit to working 3-4 days per year, we could fully staff that Center as well as organize ongoing donations of goods from their respective Church. Donations made on behalf of a local Church is credited with $.20 per pound of clothing donated, to be redeemed in free clothing for a needy family that comes to that local Church for help. Blessingdales will facilitate that entire operation on behalf of all those 98 Churches.
Anyone can open a Blessingdales "store" in their specific geographical area under Layman Lessons Ministries. Just call or email. We will help you set one up, maintain it, provide accounting, legal, and Administrative help, if you provide human and financial resources for your local "store".
Resort hotels have donated mattress and boxspring sets, appliances, sheets, towels, in high quantity.
