Here's what has happened lately and what's to come!

We work with traumatized young men here on Layman's Farm with Edge. They come from homes that have been, or continue to be single-parent homes; generally they are under some influence of negative certainty (not positive) adult role models. The majority have been abused at worst and neglected at best. They often possess anemic resiliency and adaptability. Traits that have impaired (if any) problem solving skills. They are highly intelligent and insightful, but like war prisoners of old, have had to navigate life missing foundational physical, mental and emotional parts. They strong mechanics, self-taught and self-destructive. They struggle to escape the battleground of their own minds. But they have much to offer.

We need your prayers - for our volunteers, for the young men and their families, and for the support God will supply. Specifically, we are praying for compassionate God fearing men to come along side us and mentor these young men. If you have a vocation you can mentor a young man or you would love to have you as a volunteer. If you have a gift for teaching the Word, we would love to have you mentor these young men. If you like to cook, PLEASE come share your talents with these young men. If you are a diesel mechanic, a financial advisor, a music teacher - if you have the heart of a father we want to send you! We want to purge the trauma response - fear - and replace it with positive experiences. Experiences that build positive memories that become the foundation of a proactive Spirit-led life. Whether it’s teaching practical job skills, encouraging personal growth, or simply showing up to model integrity and commitment, your investment matters and can change a life. The harvest is plentiful - but the workers are few.
